PRODUCER’S BIO

 

Mark McLaughlin has worked in the documentary realm for over twenty years. Recently he produced "Look Up in the Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman" for Bryan Singer and Warner Brothers, wrote and directed a feature documentary about 1970s dance culture, "Disco: Spinning the Story," produced and shot Fox Movie Channel's tribute to Shirley Temple, "Shirleymania," as well as segments for KCET's "California Connected" program. He spent a couple months living in a tent at the North Pole while producing "Surviving Mars" for the Discovery Channel, and he hung out with an 80-year old ex-stripper at the Burlesque Hall of Fame while making "Rewind America."

His independent feature documentary, "Keepers of the Frame," has been shown at dozens of major film festivals and on AMC (American Movie Classics).

As a freelance film technician, Mark has worked on commercials, television and feature films. His accomplishments as a documentary sound technician landed him a national Emmy nomination. Mark has traveled the world working on programs such as Nova, National Geographic, Scientific American Frontiers and many more.
